Ping Test (Latency)
Ping measures how quickly your device can communicate with a server. Low ping means faster response times, which is critical for gaming, video calls, and any real-time internet activity.
What is Ping?
Ping, also known as latency, measures the time it takes for a small data packet to travel from your device to a server and back. It's measured in milliseconds (ms). Unlike download and upload speeds which measure data volume, ping measures response time.
Think of it like this: download/upload speed is how fast a car can travel, while ping is how quickly the car can start moving after you press the accelerator.

What is Jitter?
Jitter measures the variation in ping over time. Even if your average ping is good, high jitter means your connection is inconsistent. This causes stuttering in video calls and rubber-banding in games.
Ideal jitter: Less than 30ms. If your jitter is consistently high, it may indicate network congestion or an unstable connection.
How to Improve Your Ping
- 1.Use a wired connection - Ethernet cables provide more stable latency than Wi-Fi
- 2.Close background applications - Apps using bandwidth can increase ping
- 3.Choose closer servers - Gaming on servers in your region reduces latency
- 4.Upgrade your router - Modern routers handle traffic more efficiently
- 5.Consider fiber internet - Fiber typically offers the lowest latency
